Panama Homeport
Norwegian Cruise Line will become the first cruise line to offer Panama City, Panama as a home port for cruise ships allowing for more full transit opportunities. Norwegian Jewel and other NCL ships are scheduled for a variety of Panama Canal voyages in 2022 and 2023. These sailings also offer your family the opportunity to spend more time in and around the canal and Panama before and after your cruise. You can experience the nearby rainforest, visit indigenous tribes, explore remote islands, and more. The maiden voyage of the Norwegian Jewel is scheduled for March 20, 2022, and it will depart Fuerte Amador (the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal) to transit the canal and head to Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao; Kralendijk, Bonaire, and Cartagena, Colombia before ending in Colon, Panama. Twelve voyages of this kind are planned in 2022 and 2023. Currently, NCL’s cruises sailing to the Panama Canal are only visited on “partial transits” or full-transit cruises departing from Florida.
