The five-star Hotel Plaza Athenee in New York is celebrating Babar’s 80th anniversary with a variety of hotel packages, welcome gifts and special events. The Babar Children’s Package offers connecting rooms or a two bed suite, breakfast daily, tickets to the Central Park Zoo and Top of the Rock observation deck at Rockefeller Center, milk and cookies turndown, loaner Babar DVD and a cute welcome basket with a plush toy, picture book and kaleidoscope. Babar, the royal elephant, has been the subject of more than 100 books in 17 languages. Future Babar events at the hotel will include themed birthday parties, story time and holiday-themed parties. The 142 room hotel located at 64th and Madison also offers Children’s Afternoon Tea, a children’s cocktail menu in the Bar Seine Lounge, restaurant, spa and gym.  It recently completed a multimillion dollar renovation of guest rooms and suites with contemporary European townhouse decor.
